Society for American Archaeology 2023 Annual Meeting

Linda Scott Cummings will NOT be attending the 90th Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in New Orleans, LA. I’m recovering from hip replacement surgery (all went well). Please call me after the meeting if you have anything you’d like to talk about.

RE-IV International Radiocarbon in the Environment Conference, lecce, italy, SEPT. 23-27, 2024

Linda Scott Cummings plans to attend this Radiocarbon in the Environment Conference. This year she’s submitting an abstract detailing the results of radiocarbon dating her own femoral head. Because her diet has included a variety of fish and seafood it will be interesting to see if her bone collagen dates “too old” relative to the expected age. This is part of on-going research into radiocarbon dating various samples that produce dates that are “too old” relative to their cultural affiliations.
